Rare fauna & flora
Nature and landscape conservation in and around the town is very important to us.
Formally established conservation areas provide space for ecological development in many parts of the municipality. The "Federbachbruch" nature conservation area established in 1982 between Muggensturm and Malsch has a very special significance.
It has become home to a diverse range of rare plants and endangered animal species. A scientific study counted 72 species of bird in the area, including 41 species of breeding bird. Miles of scenic trails around the town provide a perfect place for hiking, jogging or walking. It's the best way to combine recreation, fitness and enjoy the landscape and natural beauty.
